June Meeting Minutes
The June meeting was held at the home of Hank Keller. As you all know, Hank’s wife, Anjou, cooks some wonderful Indian dishes, and this meeting was not the exception. The meeting also involved beer...and there was plenty of it.
| Hank | 60 Minute IPA |
| John and Cindy (& Jim) | Dark Light Scottish Ale |
| Marty | Trappist Ale |
| Garrett | Pig Iron Porter, Dead Guy Ale, and Fergus – King of Scots Ale |
| Jeff | Leg Humper Ale |
Other members showed up empty handed... and they know who they are.
- The First State Brewers will take a field trip to the Dogfish Head Brewery on AUGUST 20. Also, Fordham Brewery will be contacted about the possibility of a tour. Garrett was taking care of these items
- Oliver was to go to the new brewery in Wilmington, and give a report about the “conditions” there. I’m sure several other members will also be able to report
- Meeting with our long-lost German member, Harald Ackerman, who was in the area June 28-30. I, as well as several other members should be able to vouch for how good it was to see him again.
- Hank will be arranging the 2nd Annual Homebrew Competition scheduled for October 2005. Jeff will host and Hank will take care of the arrangements. We NEED to decide what styles can be entered – last year we had Ale, Lager, and Other (I think we can do better than that – any ideas?).
- July 22 in Newark is the Newark Food and Beer Fest. Mark this on your calendars.
- Future Meetings:
July - Marty
August - Oliver
September - John C.
October - Jeff
Hope I covered everything.
HANK
PS Attached is last year’s rules to the competition. Let me know what modifications to make.
The July meeting will be held at the home of Marty Drinan this Friday, July 15th, at 7:30 pm.

Sam,
My homebrew club, the First State Brewers, is interested in taking a tour of your brewery. I just noticed on dogfish.com that tours are available Mondays & Fridays at 3:00pm. At our last meeting, we tentatively selected Saturday, August 20th for a tour, but that was before I read about your tour times. Is it possible to arrange for a tour on a Saturday, instead?
Cheers,
Scott
